Pietermaritzburg, the capital of KZN, is situated in the heart of the Natal Midlands.
Founded in 1838, it has grown into being the commercial and industrial centre of the Midlands. Boasting a rich history in both the academic arena, UKZN, and the sporting arena. The city is the home to the oldest soccer club on the African continent and the home of former Springbok and World Cup winner, Joel Stransky, and cricket greats Jonty Rhodes and Kevin Pietersen, amongst others.
